|
Hugh Williamson is the Emeritus Regus Professor of Hebrew at Oxford University and a world authority on the Book of Isaiah, which was the only complete Scroll found in the Dead Sea Caves. He will describe what the Scrolls are, who wrote them, where they were found and how they relate to the site of Qumran nearby. He will explain what they tell us about the history of the text of the Bible and what they reveal about the nature of second temple Judaism, with its importance for the Christian New Testament. Importantly, he will not assume any prior knowledge. |
